Practitioner reference

Frequently asked questions

Scope, methodology, cost and process questions we answer regularly. Written for practitioners who need an operational answer, not a marketing brochure. Each FAQ page carries FAQPage structured data so answers appear in Google's People Also Ask panels.

UX Audits

What should a UX audit include?

Twelve questions covering deliverables, frameworks, severity scoring, accessibility, timeline, cost, remediation, presentation, tools, and how audits differ from usability tests. The scope reference for procurement briefings.

The FAQ collection sits alongside the UX glossary (concept definitions with practical examples), the UX audit hub (methodology depth), the tools (interactive checklists and scoring tools), and the blog (long-form writing on current UX practice).

Ask a question we haven't answered

The FAQ pages grow when practitioners ask the same question twice. If you're wrestling with an audit scope, an interview preparation question, an accessibility ambiguity, or anything UX-professional that isn't answered here or in a glossary entry, email hello@uxcompanion.co.uk. The recurring questions become new FAQ pages.

Editorial approach

FAQ answers are written to the same standard as the editorial standards that govern the rest of the site — practitioner-level, framework-cited, honest about trade-offs, dated. Every answer is written by Jamie Pow personally, not generated. Where an answer becomes outdated (a WCAG level changes, a tool is deprecated, market pricing shifts materially) the page is updated and the modified date bumped.
