UX Companion is independent and reader-supported. Some of the outbound links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. This page explains exactly what that means in practice.
Every affiliate link on this site is routed through a path that begins with /go/. If a link points to uxcompanion.co.uk/go/something and then redirects to a third party, it's an affiliate link. Links pointing directly to a third-party domain are not affiliated. We label clearly where it matters in articles, and the full list is below.
The shortlist is built first, the affiliate links are added second. A tool, course, or platform earns a recommendation on this site only when we would recommend it without an affiliate relationship. Editorial decisions are not influenced by commission rates. We have refused affiliate relationships where the product fails the bar, and we recommend several products that pay us nothing.
Where two competing products both meet the bar, we'll usually mention both and let you decide. Where a product we recommend doesn't have an affiliate programme, we still recommend it.
The live registry is at /admin/affiliates if you want the authoritative list. As a snapshot at the time of writing:
Several recommended products and resources have no affiliate relationship, including Figma, Bestfolios, and most of the WCAG and Nielsen Norman Group references we link to throughout the site.
If you'd like to support the site but skip the affiliate routing, copy the destination URL from the address bar after the redirect, or visit the product directly. The recommendations will be exactly the same.
This disclosure exists to meet UK Advertising Standards Authority guidance on affiliate marketing and the US Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides. If anything on the site appears to fall short of either, email hello@uxcompanion.co.uk and we'll fix it.
