UX Method Finder

Tell the finder what you're trying to learn, your product stage, user access, available time, and resources. Get ranked methods with fit score, rationale, limitations and next steps — drawn from the UX Companion glossary and research guides. No signup. Works entirely in the browser.

How the finder works

Each method in the library carries tags for the kinds of question it answers, the product stages it suits, the time it needs, the user access it requires, whether it produces qualitative or quantitative evidence, and whether it works remotely. The finder scores every method against your choices, ranks the top matches, and shows the reasoning plus limitations so you can judge the fit.

The finder is deliberately opinionated: it won't recommend a long-form diary study when you've only got a few hours, and it won't recommend A/B testing when you don't have live users yet. Where multiple methods score similarly, the result shows them all — pick based on which rationale fits your project.

Every recommended method links out to the relevant glossary entry, deeper research guide, or template if one exists. The finder is the entry point into the wider knowledge system — not a destination in itself.
